If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve used Lyft. It’s possible you’re in a Lyft ride right now. If you are, then you\u2019re one of the company\u2019s more than 22 million active riders.<\/p>\n

Engaging riders like you is critical to Lyft’s mission. One of the main ways the company does that is through its online publication, Rev<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rev is a big deal to Lyft and its community. Its stories inspire people to get out into the real world, explore their cities, and connect with each other.<\/p>\n

But Lyft faced a challenge: ensuring content was consistent and fact-checked became a bottleneck for Rev Staff, who had full slates already, and the freelancers they partnered with couldn\u2019t keep up with the fast pace of the publication.<\/p>\n

Vanessa Quirk, Lyft\u2019s editorial manager (and, in her off hours, the producer of the Urban Roots podcast<\/a>), reached out to N2 for help after having worked with us on a previous project.<\/p>\n

Together, N2 devised a solution to Lyft\u2019s challenge by understanding exactly what Lyft needed and wasn\u2019t getting and then leveraging N2\u2019s expert roster of freelance fact-checkers to deliver results. \u201cFact-checking is a tough business,\u201d said Victoria Elghasen, head of talent at N2. \u201cIt\u2019s a tough skill set to develop and an even tougher one to staff, for most companies. We\u2019ve worked hard to build a 24\/7 team of fact-checkers and copy editors. It was great to be able to use our team to help Lyft so that they didn\u2019t have to go out and recruit, hire, and manage a system like that themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
